In 2021, Matt ruined his meeting with singer Adele by not preparing adequately for his interview to promote her studio album, 30. He subsequently faced severe backlash and received a 2-week suspension from Seven Network. Furthermore, Doran apologized to Adele and her fans on-air for his blunder.
